Weeds dance...

This morning I watched a pair of great crested grebes doing their full display with their 'weed dance' in lovely sunshine at OM. This just has to be one of the most beautiful bird courtships. Wonderful to watch & close enough to take a few photos.
The birds first of all display their heads in front of each other, much swivelling, full crests and the like. They then dive to gather the weeds and swim away from each other. They emerge, swim towards each other and rise up in their display. Gorgeous :)
