The great littlebig Blipmeet

I met with some lovely people today (Blippers are the best) for a blipmeet in Manchester.

The meet was organised by Kathymay and our tour guide (unofficial, but very well done) was Tommy0161. We were also joined by Terraldinho, FionaRobinson and last, but certainly not least, Chrissie1butter.

We met at the Manchester Art Gallery and from there, Tom led us expertly through parts of the city I for one certainly didn't know existed!
Between Tom and Chrissie, I learned lots of history about the various places we saw, especially in the old textile district down by the canal basin. That is where today's blip was taken and I dedicate it to fellow blipper BVFL33 (she will know why!); I wish you could have been there Helena. Beewriter's absence was also felt.

We chatted most of the way round; Chrissie told me stories of her former job as a ribbon rep and I found out that Kathy and I both work for the same dental corporate; she even pointed out their HQ as we walked past.
We discussed cameras, settings, photography courses and the things that we love about Blipfoto.

All that wandering was thirsty work, but it took 4 attempts to find a place that could accommodate us. It's been such a beautiful day, spring has definitely sprung, so all the cafes were full.
Luckily for us Tom knew an Icelandic place called Takk, which was on our route.
A blipmeet just wouldn't be the same without cake and when I saw something in the dessert counter called 'crack pie', I just had to try it.
OMG....it was divine! The waitress had said it was the best pie ever, which is a bold claim, but I'm inclined to agree with her! A fantastic fusion of shortbread, oats and salted caramel. Just WOW!

More walking was needed to burn off those pesky calories, so we headed back through the Northern Quarter and into the centre of Manchester.

I left the group at this point as the Arndale Centre was calling my name
having had a really fun day with new found friends.

All of today's photo's will be on Flickr later, should you wish to gander :-)

Hope this link works!
