Lots of Bad Luck?

Walking round Dubai Mall this afternoon came across part of it all decked out with a canopy of brightly coloured umbrellas.
There is actually a roof above this which means that all these have been put up inside, which I thought was supposed to be bad luck.
Let's hope not, or someone is in for a bad time of it, given how many there are.
