Hotspur Press

Manchester late morning - Sunday lunch at Wahaca at the Corn Exchange (good Mexican food), and then to the Bridgewater Hall for a show (J's last Christmas present).

J thought I might want to hide behind a column - I survived. In fact, I enjoyed it (I love Nelson Riddle's arrangements, especially if played well. And the dancing was good).

This derelict building sits in an area of Manchester that is rapidly changing. I am standing in a relatively new multi-storey car park, situated next to the absurdly named "Home". The tall buildings rising behind are student flats. The building was originally Medlock Mill, a textile mill, and more recently the Hotspur Press, occupied by a variety of artists.  In this area the Medlock is now culverted in large part - I am probably standing over it in fact.

There are some good old mills in this area - the more that survive the better, notwithstanding the difficult economics.
