Spider Snow
When Liffey and I left for our walk this morning the air was cold and snow was spitting down in a fairly good sprinkle. However, the last week had been quite warm so the ground would not allow the snow to stick at all. Even the grass and bushes, while wet, were not cold enough to hold the snow.
The spider webs, on the other hand, were out in the air themselves and so they had the same temperature as the air. Usually the cold and wind destroy spider webs long before the first snow but our recent warm spell had brought out the spiders and they put out their snares just in time to catch the snow.
