Share The Pavement With Bugs Day

That's what it seems to be today, as I can't remember having seen that many bugs, bees, beetles, caterpillars, snails and what not during any of my recent walks to the market and back. And of course the little one insisted we help them into the safety of the nearby bushes, flowerbeds or patches of grass. As we always do.

Years and years ago I went out of my way to help the diving beetles back into the rivers or lakes whenever I saw one somewhere in the city, far away from any body of water. On several occasions that meant walking for several kilometres. I stopped doing that when I discovered those critters could actually fly.
