A tree and a memory
Our visit to Kendal ended today and though I am tired, I am home having enjoyed our visit. This hotel is the one we stayed at when we toured in the Lake District as a cricket side from 1985 - 1996. We then got too old to play and now just gather in the summer to watch cricket. But we returned in March 2012 at the request of one of our team who had been diagnosed with cancer but wanted to return to visit the place we had enjoyed so much. Later that year George died.
We returned the following year and planted a beech tree in his memory and we revisit every March to check George,s tree is well and growing. The blip is that tree. It's a good memory of a wonderful man who we still miss.
