Shelterbox

So many people are talking about the awful things human beings do, the ugliness of their actions, the cruelty of their thoughts and attitudes, in a world where a potential world leader can stir violence and hatred; where even our own, milder politicians seem oblivious to the true nature of poverty ..............  it lifts the spirits to open an envelope from a charity which simply brings smiles and loving care and empathy to the fore;  Shelterbox cannot save the world but it seems to be using its funds to make little but vital differences in the lives of those who have nothing. The charity gives back to its supporters a reasonable amount of information on its projects, appeals a reasonable number of times a year and doesn't blackmail you with torrents of free greetings cards, coasters and pens!  Worth a look.
