Back to the kingfisher

And he was very co operative.  I was in the bird hide when he flew past, returned to fish, settled immediately across from us, and then flew further on for a minute or two. It's quite captivating.

I chose this photo because there is a smaller bird flying below him (I think it may be a female chaffinch). He is a true charmer.

A lovely morning. There are some little voles under one of the piles of wood, but they were too fast to catch in focus. A tree creeper crept up the tree opposite the hide (behind where the kingfisher is in my shot). And both a male and a female reed bunting settled on the feeders. Vivid bullfinches, and robins each posing to try to snatch the blip from the kingfisher.

How lucky can we get.
