Little Egret

K and I went out to Smeaton Nursery looking for a tree or shrub to replace our bamboo which died over the winter. We eventually settled on a Pyrocantha which we'll grow up the fence - but possibly also have a dwarf ornamental cherry for the bed at the front of the house.....
Lunch at the tearoom, followed by a walk around the lake (to burn off the calories!) was followed by a trip to Bellhaven bay on the way home.
This little egret posed nicely for me and is a first sighting of this species this year for us.
