I picked on a couple of folks who work on the Royal Mile today. One was actually a very charming performer who was chatting to a group of tourists and was totally cool about doing some cheesey portrait poses for me. I promised to email him any decent shots I managed.

She was handing out leaflets in what presumably was someone's idea of a Gothic horror costume. I didn't want a straight-on portrait shot and tried to get her to adopt a more (ahem) assertive pose. I'm reasonably happy with the result. However, I am not so sure about the accompanying text behind her. I'm sure she's anything but "Not for the squamish" if you get to know her...
