Going Underground

In a quiet cul-de-sac, where I deliver a couple of Sam's papers, if I'm feeling generous, I came across this uncovered hole in the ground.  So I peered in... it wasn't at all what I expected to see.

No idea what it is, but it doesn't look very robust.  I hope someone came along and did what needed doing since it's been raining this afternoon. 

Took Ben to see the Dr today since he's really not getting better.  She confirmed he has a virus and needs lots of rest and fluids.  Poor Ben, he's not been this ill for years.
