Viking invasion?

These viking boats are in Peel harbour where they are practising for races later in the summer.

We went over to Peel well into the afternoon as the morning was wet and mist shrouded. We arrived with the sun and walked up Peel Hill above St Patrick's Isle and the castle and did a walk beyond to the folley on Corrins Hill and then back along the coast - part of the Raad ny Fiollan.

Peel is on the east coast of the Isle of Man where kippers are produced and the famous Manx Queenies (small scallops) are removed from their shells after catching. Some of the path around the hill is lined with the shells from these.

It was a delightful evening watching the boats.
