COLCHICUMS:

These pretty Autumn crocus are growing under an apple tree & provide a bright spot up the back. There is a very pretty double one called C. Waterlily; although I have it growing, I don't have a bunch of them. It seems reluctant to multiply.
A day of deep disappointment for me. As a nation we had a vote to change our flag & when the results came out last night, 56% of the population voted to keep the old one as against 43%. So, after spending 26 million, we still have the old, tired one ! How sad, how sad ! My vote went for the fern - new, exciting & symbolic !
