Common Kingfisher(Alcedo atthis)

It wouldn't be the weekend without a Kingfisher photograph. I am pretty confident that most people would agree with me that this is one(of thousands!) of the most beautiful birds in the world, I think it must be down to lots of factors, but the combination of orange and turquoise feathers just make it stand out. The extra is of my oldest son in another Wadi this morning that has got many crystal clear spring water pools for swimming in. Absolute bliss in this heat! The rain we have had has made such a difference to Oman and is much needed and celebrated.
