Whats the odds?

Staying in Aubusson - moving on to the coast today. But what are the chances of little French towns in the most sparsely populated part of France managing in the long term? Its a charming small town but you wonder what it will be like in another 10 years. 

The town has at least got its tapestry history to rely on. But judging from some of the weird modern efforts on display in the hotel dining room last night I think they will have trouble selling many.
