Early Morning, Miami

We glided into our berth at the port of Miami very early this morning, amidst fog and drizzle and a rather flashy lightning storm.  This is the view from our balcony, showing the lights of Miami in the distance, and a crane waiting on the dock to unload the 21-ton temporary emergency generator that had to be installed on the top deck back in Santos, Brazil after the ship's emergency generator broke.  The engineers managed to repair it some time between Santos and Miami, so the temporary one can now be sent back to Rio de Janeiro.

A long day of waiting, delays, gate changes at the airport, and more delays, but we are now safe and sound back in our lovely apartment in Boston.  Both of us are rocking and rolling, with a distinct leaning to port!  I wonder how long it will be before our bodies realize they are no longer on the high seas?
