was today over run by orienteers . - the first of 4 days of events in Yorkshire over Easter. Mr P was just walking because he has been told not to do anything competitive. Was delighted with my result after a scamper/walk and sore knees stopping me going very fast and ended up 23/54.  There were some beautiful old buildings to remind us of the University's industrial heritage.  Its origins lie with Yorkshire College of Science,  founded around 1874 largely as a result of concerns by the wool and textile industries that the rapid development of new technologies in Europe posed a threat to the local cloth trade. The College became a University on 1904
