Sun on St Swithin's Day Sparks Garden Revolt
The sun shone today like never before (or in recent memory in any case) and all the wildlife was out in full force. The usual rabble of chickens & Ozzie the springer spaniel were joined by the wrens, seagulls, magpies, moorhens, rabbits & a surprise predatory kestrel.
My step pa also unveiled 'one' of his new gadgets.. an amazing bit of camera kit, with a brilliant manual focus zoom which provided me with much enjoyment this afternoon. I quickly developed a camera claw & a squinty, unfocused left eye. Eh, what you gonna do!?
Here, the humble bumble bee is the focus of my attention as it buzzes between each sprig of lavender. It makes for a pleasantly serene blip when considering the clucking, barking, flapping, gliding, stealing, scarpering, hopping & swooping going on all around.
