In the absence of nearby trees or suitable foliage, it's difficult for this photo to convey the strength of the wind 'up on top' today. What seemed like a good idea turned into a questionable plan! Eldest Daughter and Overlooked Third Child declared our rock balancing a 'silly game to play' and quickly beat a hasty retreat to the shelter of Hebers Ghyll wood to indulge in a spot of Geocache hunting. Sadly, the Geocaches have not been well maintained or have disappeared altogether from this particular corner of Ilkley. Maybe that game has had its day?
