People are stupid ....

4 out of 5 rabbits purchased as Easter gifts die or are abandoned before their 1st birthday ... Know why ?
1.people don't do their research ...
2.they are complex creatures with a very complex stomach
3.they are not cheap to look after UNLESS you are cruel and don't give them what they need ..
4.they need neutering or speying... Boys spray wee everywhere if left intact and females become hormonal and aggressive AND have a 75% chance of cancer if left un-speyed ...
5.long haired rabbits need daily grooming .. I know this as we have an angora rabbit .. She costs £20 just to have groomed ...
6.they get ill easily ... In just 8 months one of the rabbits vet bills for poorly eyes has been £110.
7.they need unlimited supplies of proper hay ... Rabbits teeth never stop growing and hay keeps the teeth short..
8.they need space to move naturally .... A hutch is NOT enough
9.they are social animals and ideally should be adopted in pairs or larger groups ..it's not so bad for free roaming house rabbits but rabbits should NEVER be sold singly ...
10.9/10 rabbits despise being picked up.. They scratch and bite hard ... So no good for small children ..
11.its a myth you can house them with Guinea pigs ... Rabbits carry a hidden germ that can kill Guinea pigs. It's called pasturella .

I could go on and on and on ...
I'm passionate about all animal welfare not just rabbits ...

If I've offended anyone then my job here is done as it means you have acted improperly ... Or why else would you feel indignant ?

PS... Rabbits can live up to 10-12 years ... And should only be fed carrots once a week as a treat as the carrot is full of sugars X
