Progress Or A Step Backwards

When I was a child Easter was a 'quiet' time, a time for families. There were no shops open nobody worked so people spent Easter together.

Fast forward to today, beautiful weather, sunny and warm, and yet the stores are jammed with both locals and holiday makers, bored, upset children in tow, schlepping up and down the aisles. Meanwhile the beaches are empty and with today's good weather set to be replaced with high winds and driving rain for the remainder of the week-end things are not going to get better.

On the plus side a nice 50 minute catch up call with my brother tonight.
