Hobbiton

Today we were very excited as we went to Hobbiton to visit the Lord of The Rings and Hobbit set! The sun was beaming over the shire. The tour was brilliant and we were gobsmacked by the pure beauty of the set and the surrounding areas of rolling hills, magical trees and the greenest grass we've ever seen! The intricate details on the hobbit holes were incredible. In the evening we signed up for a Tamaki Maori village experience to learn about the rituals and history of Maori culture, It was incredible to watch them perform the Haka dance. We also had a traditional hangi feast cooked underground- with tasty lamb, chicken and veg, it definitely satisfied our cravings for a roast dinner!
