Hutton-Le-Hole
A chance for a day out with some reasonable weather - so Mrs madwill and I set off for Helmsley, North Yorkshire just before 9 a.m.
We had our breakfast in a nice tearoom in the town - very good it was too. After a bit of a wander and a quick stop off in the castle visitor centre we drove on to Hutton-le-Hole.
We spent ages wandering around by the river and this is where I caught this shot of the sunlight bursting through and illuminating the cottages.
Later we went into the Ryedale Folk Museum for an hour or so. Then we called in to a tearoom for a cup of tea and a cake (one between two as we had such a large breakfast). It did rain rather hard whilst we were inside, which was quite fortunate.
Driving home through torrential storms and howling gales was a bit of let down, but we had a good day.
Roast pork for tea later, Finlay had just a short walk as it was raining here again!
