The road on Lake Saimaa

It's usual here on huge area of Lake Saimaa that locals who live or have a cottage on islands or capes maintain roads on lake ice to get the shorter way to their houses. In some cases it spares tens of kilometers of driving if ice road is used instead of official roads. Of course that requires at least 20 cm thick and strong ice to be on the safe side. This winter average ice thickness is 30-40 cm. However, now when daily temperatures are rising up fast to plus degrees of celcius, ice start to melt and roads get very slippery due of water on it.
