Catch a Falling Star...
....Salisbury Cathedral in the Moonlight
...better LARGE
One I took early hours of this morning.
A shooting star silently whizzed across the sky between shots, but unfortunately not during an exposure.
The foreground reed beds are very high now and with big tripod on full height I still had to clone some of them out. The moonlight has created a more interesting palette of colours with a reflection in the stained glass windows of the Cathedral.
Sharp? No, not the much vaunted Sigma Art this time but still a fast prime, my 10 year old Nikkor D 50mm f1.4. More recent designs may have increased performance at very wide apertures but stopped down to between f2.8 to f8 and such lenses will always outstrip the potential of the camera sensor.
I seem to have been ill for all of Sunday and so no chocolate or anything much. Hope the bug goes before it gets worse.
Hope and trust that you ALL had a better time than I did!!
