For Calmac fans

Here is MV Isle of Lewis coming in to Oban at 11.30 this morning. She's taking on the Oban-Barra run after previously working the Ullapool-Stornaway route, but has been superseded there by MV Loch Seaforth, which is more modern, greener and quieter. We travelled on Loch Seaforth last summer.

In the foreground is the tower of St Columba's Cathedral, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott.  He designed the Anglican Cathedral at Liverpool and the famous red telephone box.  It was built of pink granite, begun in 1927 and completed in 1958.

My extra today is the MV Coruisk, here seen leaving Oban for Craignure this afternoon. She's adding to the frequency of the Oban-Mull timetable before going back to Gourock-Dunoon for the winter. Her previous summer job was on the Mallaig-Armadale crossing.
