a new toy
a flikr friend has produced some amazing abstract pictures using fractals. do you know what a fractal is? apologies to the mathematicians out there, but as one who barely scraped through a maths O level I had never heard of them! basically they are shapes created with mathematical formulae. this is a photo of my netbook screen showing one of his creations [and a very dirty screen!]
he has pointed me in the direction of a free download site, where you can use a programme to create amazing abstracts for yourself. I have downloaded it and planned to blip one of my own creations but - like any programme - there is a steep learning curve, hence cribbing one of his. this is the download link if anyone wants to have a go.

you can apparently save your creations as jpeg but I guess to use them on blip you would have to print and photograph. I'm sure artistic blippers would find hundreds of uses for the images created.
have fun!!
