Kingfisher

So here is the Kingfisher yet again! This time she is shaking off the excess water after having her end of the day wash and brush up. Patience is rewarded as this is what the Kingfisher does everyday without fail and if you know the perches she may pick you will be lucky to see her having her wash before she flies back to her tree for the night. I feel so lucky to have followed her and learnt her 'routine' and for her to let me get so close (well relatively, a crop from a shot with a 600mm lens) Kingfishers are creatures of habit and if you are lucky enough to have the time and patience and you don't disturb the bird in anyway you can get to photograph this stunning bird. Obviously you have to find one first and here in Oman I am fortunate enough to see three different birds, although only one very regularly(this one) Our holiday has been delayed(again)so no new birds for at least a couple of days!
