Visiting the Sheep and Returning at Fishers Cabin
We still feel slightly under the influence of the Summertime shift. Its the change in intensity of light. The day starts earlier now, more close to sunrise. And in the beginning of the evening it still is so bright. Meanwhile everywhere green budding is spreading. Though the weather again is plunging us back into wintery cold and storm. Spring is definitely in advance.
We wanted to have a closer look and feel the harsh winds. So out we went for a modest Eastermonday walk. Greeting the Friedensthal brook, welcomed by our sheep friends. There is one of them, stll the youngest, who recognizes us from far. He knows Willemien will tear lots of fresh green grass from the trackside. His mother and some others follow. Greedy. After that we made the turn at Fishers cabin. Not a very thrilling tour, nor charming as we experienced yesterday. But this is life as it is given to you. And we were glad not to have spoiled the opportinity to inhale the fresh riverside air.
Meanwhile, the sheep have forgotten the feedy hand. But they will remember next time as those two walkers pass their meadow. And so does the magic Riverside Oak at South Window. She can tell a lot of stories of what can happen at her foot. There a giggling and splashing small brook finishes its last cascading and streaming before flowing into the river. I know the brook is coming down though the Spierriesgrund valley. Why did we never explore its origin, so far?
