Every journey ...

... begins with a crossing on Western Ferries. This blip is for anyone who sees my check-ins on ferries (today's was my 500th) and wonders what they look like. The current ships take about three times as many cars as the ones that first ferried us here in 1974, and there are mercifully more frequent sailings.

Without them, I'd have moved. Long ago.
