Clivia Mountain

Oh, but it's been hard work.  There's been collateral damage where the dripper hose has been axed in two.

Anyway they are all chopped down now, and this may well bring tears to the eyes of those that struggle to grow Clivias, but if you don't divide the clumps and thin them out regularly, they just develop into triffids.  Like this lot.

Basically a haven for snails and not much else.

Some of this area is really steep, so my plan is to put in a gabion wall as a retainer, and level out the slope so it's easier to garden.  Then we are going to plant natives.  There's a ground cover - a very low growing lime green acacia, which is stunning, and I thought I might plant that together with a hardenbergia which has gorgeous purple flowers in spring.

Lime green and purple - works for me.
