Fairfield Forever

Three Counties Asylum opened in March 1860 and was home to over 400 patients within its first year. It became part of the National Health Service in 1948, was renamed Fairfield Park in 1960, and closed in 1999.

Tastefully converted to flats as part of a wider residential scheme, Fairfield Hall is looking as magnificent as ever. The main building and its water towers are Grade II Listed. 

It was originally designed by Inverness-born architect George Fowler Jones, who studied under the man who designed The National Gallery, William Wilkins.
