A Shrine to the Arts

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is rapidly positioning itself to be one of the dominant forces in the art scene in the Mid-Atlantic. Recently completing a multi-million dollar expansion and playing host to the only eastern U.S. stop on the Picasso world tour, the VMFA is flexing its muscles. When most people think of Richmond they immediately think of history, yet this art museum is proving to be the most popular tourist attraction in the city.

As a biology major I can only wish that the Science Museum of Virginia would get the message.

As a lover of the arts... I'm okay with the current trend.

If you make it by be sure to check out the sculpture garden (a work in progress) as well as Amuse Cafe. Or you can try the fine dining restaurant upstairs.
