Abbotsford House

I got a train on the new Borders Railway to meet my friend who lives near Galashiels. We walked along the River Tweed and round the garden at Abbotsford House. This house belonged to Sir Walter Scott and it has a new visitor centre and restaurant beside it.

After looking at the rather pricey menu we went into Melrose and had a nice lunch in one of the cafes there.
