Christchurch, New Zealand

We visited Christchurch. It is still recovering from their devastating earthquake five years ago. Nothing is as much a symbol of the earthquake as the Anglican cathedral. The Anglican church wants to tear it down but preservationists want it rebuilt. I don't see how it can be rebuilt as it is so badly damaged. The city is full of parking lots where buildings once stood. Even skyscrapers have been yet to be torn down. I think it will take another 20 years to restore the city.
