twinned with trumpton

After a hearty breakfast (not too hearty, though - nothing worse than not being able to move for the first two hours) and a swift mooch around the harbour, we exited Anstruther, blisters and sore knees notwithstanding, and headed off in a Cellardyke kinda direction. Sun out, little breeze, still quiet.

On we plodded, out of town, to Crail, picture perfect as ever. And on through rougher ground to Fifeness, and turn the corner to head north; facing the snow capped Angus hills and the coast stretching away up towards Aberdeen,
Onto beaches, skirting the golf courses, peering into rock pools, all the while ignoring the pain in the feet and legs.

Kingsbarns offered hope with a mere 7.5 miles to go, but it got rougher and more undulating; still gorgeous, but tiring.

Eventually St Andrews hove into view; we staggered up the sea front, grabbed an ice cream at Luvians and made for the bus station. Just enough time to down a cold beer and board the X59 to Edinburgh.

Another 20 miles done; the grand finale to come on Saturday - the Fife Coastal Path has been a nice wee adventure.

Home, and after soaking in the bath and a ham / cauli cheese dinner, it was slumped on the sofa until sleep overtook us.
