Wild Flowers and War Heroes

I've blipped this before, but never in the full bloom of summer. I was very suprised to see it surrounded by dense wild flowers, there had just been grass there before and it held no clue that this little lot would spring from it.

I'm wondering if there were poppies earlier, but I couldn't see any sign that there had been. I think it'd look wonderful with a dense growth of red poppies around it.

It's been such a lovely day here with the sun shining all day, but it disappeared just as I returned from work! Sods law!

Rumour has it that we shall have a summery weekend and that next week will be a scorcher! Fingers crossed, eh!!
