Mermaid and Laundry

Part of a continuous freeze of tiles with ships and mermaids. One of the best examples of tilework by James Duncan & Son, Glasgow.

Created in 1894 for Alex Reid's fishmonger's shop at 126 Nithsdale Road, Pollokshields. It is now a laundry and dry cleaners. Staff kindly allowed me to take a photo. Previously blipped back in May 2010.
