Lucifer in waiting

I was struck by the unfurled abstract shapes of the spikes on the Lucifer Crocosmia plant yesterday, but as I chose jam-making I thought I might return to the Lucifer today. I'm waiting for it to flower so that I can try my still life idea out again this year. I might try and borrow the club lights - reminder to self to e-mail C.

A shopping morning for more paint and a single duvet quilt followed by an afternoon in the garden trying to cut back the Valerian before it seeds everywhere. (I think I've already failed on that front!)

No rain until after 4pm today and two lots of washing dry - is this a record for this summer?
