Piano

The local college hosts a Science Fest every year and tonight we went to hear the keynote speaker talk about the Physics behind pianos.  I thought it was extremely interesting, but I have had several college physics courses.  My kids couldn't quite follow the lecture.   I could definitely have added some things to his presentation to make it more engaging.

After the lecture (and the trip to the ice cream stand as payment for indulging the crazy whims of parents) we had to open the piano to look at the strings and the hammers.  Very cool to tickle our brains.

I took some photos of chords being struck, and I collaged them all together in this crazy symphony of science.
