Day 3 in the big brother care home! Whilst Pat remains rather confused, she seems to be settling in, I realise it's very early days!

She has spent the last 3 months in a different home, following the sudden(ish) passing of Tom, her husband, but there seemed to be no activities. As a former WI chair for more years than I can remember, it was such a shame she sat in her room in isolation. This new home, very local to us, has been refurbished, so it is clean and smell free. It has a lovely feel to it and there are loads of activities. Yesterday a group of the ladies (14 ish including some carers) had tea and cake in the pub across the road (I dread to think how they got these old folk across the busy road). Even with her dementia, Pat told me she had had chocolate cake there yesterday. I remain hopeful that she may now get some quality of life
