Pussy Galore

JJ went off to watch the grandchildren play football this morning so I headed up to the ridge for a walk past the windmill and down to the river.  I was hoping to catch sight of a heron but I was spotted, again, and it flew off.

Today I heard my first Chiffchaff, saw two Yellowhammers, lots of Skylarks, three large wasps, several flies, a caterpillar, a centipede, a hoverfly, a beefly, lots of slugs and a partridge in a pear tree.

A bit of gardening this afternoon, tidying up and adding plants to the gaps.  More tulip heads have been devoured by the squirrels.  Sigh!
