What is it?

Back in Stockbridge there was time for one last trawl through the charity shops. I bought this strange and rather beautiful wooden press? I've searched around through Google images and come up with nothing like it under 'garlic', 'Butter' and 'cheese' press/mould. Anyone have any ideas? It is carefully made but not particularly old. Eastern European/Turkish? 

Last jobs here hanging mirrors and clearing up. The P's brother, wife and children dropped in on their way for a week at Pittenweem. Which was nice. The weather mild and overcast. 

I splashed out on a set of Meindl bongos in one of the charity shops. More than I'd normally pay for anything but they looked so appealing and drummable.
