I do think our lovely home looks particularly cottagey when the sun shines on it. This morning, we all worked to lay three more giant sacks of gravel on the drive in front of ours and mum & dads houses. I think when they see it they will be happy. We may need one more sack in a month or so.
While Jon filled the barrow, and Henry raked it once it was tipped out, I weeded the worst of the weeds. Prior to this photo, I had removed all the logs, which also meant relocating my 5 little frogs and one toad which were living there. Henry later sprayed all the weeds poking through the stones.
Mollie surfaced after a week of almost full time work, at around 11.30am. She supervised and made tea!
With the lovely weather, I took my sewing machine down to the summerhouse first thing this morning, where I adjusted Henry's new jeans in time for him to wear when he got up. I have a couple of bags I'm making too, so hopefully will continue with those tomorrow.
We had a wander around Cromer after lunch, where Henry bought a few bits to complete a school homework project. Back home we enjoyed an ice cream in the garden, before getting up in the garage loft to gather the car boot stuff together. My car is much smaller than my old one, and it was necessary to decide what I would take, and what I leave. The car boot sale tomorrow is in Gresham; a small one which I did once before, not very successfully, but it is convenient. As I can't get the kids in the car, they can cycle down to join me. We have just realised that I don't have any money for a float. So scraping together £20 from Henry's money box, £10 from Mollie and £6 of my own, plus £3.80 in 20ps from my piggy bank, we are set....and hoping that if we do make a sale, we don't get offered a £20 note!
Tonight, we have watched Iron Man. It is one of the kids' (I include Jon in that) favourites. A short while ago I made the mistake of promising to watch the Marvel comic films with them, that they love so much. At the time, I thought I'd made rather a rash promise, but they haven't been too bad. So far we've watched Captain America, Thor and now Iron Man. I wasn't so keen on Thor, but the other two have been quite good! We watch them early so that I don't fall asleep! Now they are watching a violent Arnold Swarzenegger film......and I've got some car boot lego sets to put together!!! I want to check there aren't any bits missing.....and I don't like violent films!
Jon has an early start tomorrow, driving to Coventry to pick up Daniel. I'm really looking forward to seeing him, as he hasn't been home since Christmas.
Looking forward to a bit more sun. Now to my lego....
