Saturday: Venice Sidestreets

Tempting though it is to post another canal shot, here is another view of Venice.

We went to the Guggenheim museum this morning which was excellent. We then stayed on that side of the canal and explored the quieter backstreets around there. It was a lovely day and it felt nice to be off the beaten track. We also found a great place where we initially stopped for a drink, but it was so pleasant we ended up having lunch there too. It was great to sit out in the sun.

In the evening, we also discovered a great little bar in a quiet square which seemed to be full of locals - there is definitely a theme emerging in our discoveries.........
