Dexter on His Eighth Birthday

April 2 is Dexter's birthday. And so on this day, he turned eight! How lovely that his birthday actually fell on a Caturday, so that I could spend the day with him!

We observed the occasion by hanging around the house and indulging in cat stuff. We played with toys on the stairs. We set up boxes for running through. The birthday meals featured Fancy Feast tuna with cheddar, with dessert being a few bites of fried chicken (minus the coating, of course).

I got into the middle bedroom, which is usually kept closed, as there is plenty of stuff in there for cats to get in trouble with. But this time, I let Dexter in, and of course, he climbed to the very very tippy top of everything!

And there Dexter sat, looking happily down at me, content to survey me (and everything else) from the highest point in the land. Happy birthday, Dexter! And many more!
