Gently down the stream

Dog Day Afternoon

Missed all the really good blipping weather today because I was having lunch at the pub that all happened in the morning and I was doing other things.

The Plough at Sparsholt is a really nice place to go for food and a gossip and afterwards we went half a mile up the road to Crab Wood to see how the spring flowers were coming along.  It does have swathes of bluebells, but I hesitate to call it a bluebell wood, because it's flora is much richer than that.  There are thousands upon thousands of wood anemones and primroses at the moment, the violets are just beginning, oodles of arum lilies to come, celandines, honeysuckle, etc, as well as other flowers later.  However, having screwed up the light we reckoned they would all be that much further out by next weekend, so might go back then for a blip.

Today's was taken just as we were going back to the car.  It reminded me of last Sunday when I nearly got flattened by walkers, but this time it was a mass (15? 20?) dog walk/training session.  The dogs were being as good as they possibly could be but clearly the excitement was intense.  No, actually when they got going it was a bit of a berserker, but a very good natured one.  I do love seeing people (and their animals) enjoying being out in this weather..

Hope you've had a fab weekend.  Enjoy your Sunday evening and talk later  xx
