OUR HOME FOR THE NEXT WEEK

We had a good journey up to the Lake District - not too much traffic once we had passed Birmingham - and received a very warm welcome at High Green Farm from Nora. She made us feel at home immediately and before long came in with a tray with tea, coffee and home-made cake - just what was needed after a long journey!

After refreshing ourselves, we went for a walk up the very quiet lane, with just the sound of birds singing, lambs bleating and their mothers answering.

They do have Internet access but not in our room. Nora explained that the walls were so thick, it often didn't work upstairs, so this might be the only thing I post for the next few days!

We think we can manage this beautiful place for a week but despite using my Canon camera, it may have to be iPhone blips.

The real world,
in my opinion,
exists in the countryside,
where Nature goes about
her quiet business
and brings us greatest pleasure.
