Wet walk along the river...

in the company of some lovely people. It rained for the four hours of the walk, heaviest at lunchtime, where we sat to enjoy a picnic on the tarpaulin. However, we saw Dippers, such as the male in the main pic, his mate under the riverbank where she had the nest, Goosander, Woodpeckers, Siskins, Mallard, Mute Swans, the male on the nest here, Grey Wagtail and the first Chiffchaffs! The flora was good too, Wood Anemone, Butterbur, Celandine, Ramsons and Larch in flower too.
A cup of tea in the cafe after was enjoyable and the craic continued.
Back home now and it is sunny!
